Not at all! Our classes welcome all experience levels, from complete beginners to seasoned practitioners. Our smaller class sizes ensure our instructors can provide personalized guidance and modifications tailored to your needs. If you're new to Pilates, we recommend starting with our All Levels class to learn proper technique and build confidence.
Grip socks are required for safety on the reformers. We sell them at the studio and have a limited number of clean loaner pairs available if you forget yours. We recommend comfortable clothes that allow free movement and water if you'd like.
Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled class time to allow time to get settled on your reformer before class starts. If you’re new to Pilates, we recommend coming 10 minutes early so the instructor can help you get oriented with the equipment.
If you anticipate being late, please let us know by emailing hello@craftpilates.com. For everyone's safety and the quality of the class experience, we may not be able to admit clients after 10 minutes past the start time. After this cutoff, our cancellation policy will apply.
We ask for at least 12 hours' notice for cancellations. This allows time for waitlisted clients to plan accordingly. Late cancellations (less than 12 hours before class) will result in a charge for the session. We understand that life happens - if you experience an emergency, please email us at hello@craftpilates.com and we'll do our best to accommodate your situation.
Our system automatically adds you to class if a spot becomes available, up until 12 hours before the scheduled class time. You'll receive an email or text confirmation when you've been moved from the waitlist into the class. Once added to class from the waitlist, standard cancellation policies apply. If your plans change while on a waitlist, please remove yourself from the list so others can have the opportunity to join.
Pilates can be supportive for recovery, but safety comes first. Please let your instructor know about any injuries or conditions before class so they can suggest appropriate modifications. Our instructors are movement specialists but not medical professionals, so we require clients with serious injuries to get clearance from their healthcare provider before joining classes.
Yes, Open Gym is designed for clients who are already comfortable using reformers independently. You should be familiar with basic reformer exercises, safety protocols, and have your own flow or workout routine in mind. If you're new to Pilates or would like a refresher, we recommend starting with our group classes or private sessions to build your foundation.
If you're experienced with Pilates but would like help developing a self-guided routine, we include a complimentary private session with all 3-month Open Gym memberships. Our priority is ensuring you can practice safely and confidently during Open Gym time.
Our studio has 9 Balanced Body Allegro 2 reformers available for Open Gym members. Each station also includes a box, yoga blocks, a ball, and magic circle on request.
Open Gym is available Monday through Friday, from 10:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-5:00pm.
A staff member is always present during Open Gym hours to ensure studio safety and assist with basic equipment needs. While our staff is familiar with the studio and equipment, they are not necessarily certified Pilates instructors and do not provide exercise guidance. If you're looking for hands-on coaching, we'd be happy to set you up with a private session or recommend a group class that fits your goals
Members can easily reserve their spot through our scheduling system online. Book up to two weeks in advance in 60-minute blocks, with a maximum of 2 hours per day.
Please cancel your reservation at least 60 minutes before your scheduled time if you can't make it. This allows other members to use the space. While we don't charge penalties for cancellations, repeated no-shows or late cancellations may affect your ability to make advance reservations.
You can book up to 2 hours per day during the Open Gym hours (10am - 12pm, 1pm - 4pm), scheduled in one-hour blocks. This allows you to create a practice that fits your needs—whether that's a focused hour of movement or a longer session to really sink into your flow.
Both. While we recommend reserving your preferred reformer and time slot in advance, we welcome walk-ins when space is available. Members can check real-time reformer availability through our Arketa scheduling system, so you'll always know if there's room to drop in.
Grip socks are required for safety on the reformers. We sell them at the studio and have a limited number of clean loaner pairs available if you forget them. While we provide all the equipment you'll need for your practice, you're welcome to bring small props that are part of your routine. Store your belongings in our designated cubbies to keep the workout space clear.
No, outside instructors are not permitted during Open Gym hours. For your safety and insurance purposes, only Craft Pilates instructors may provide guidance in our studio. If you're interested in private instruction, we'd be happy to match you with one of our experienced teachers.
Not at all. Private sessions are actually an ideal way to begin your Pilates practice. Your instructor will take time to understand your goals and movement background, then create a personalized approach that builds your confidence and strength at the right pace for you. Whether you're completely new to Pilates or have some experience, private sessions provide the focused attention and tailored guidance to help you develop strong foundations for your practice.
Your first session begins with a brief chat about your goals and any physical concerns. Your instructor will then introduce you to Pilates fundamentals and guide you through exercises on the reformer at a comfortable pace. You'll learn proper form and technique while getting hands-on guidance tailored to your needs.
Private sessions are held in our main studio space. You'll have your own dedicated reformer and instructor's full attention, though other members may be using other reformers in the space.
Keep it simple and comfortable. Wear form-fitting athletic wear that lets you move freely and allows your instructor to see your alignment. Grip socks are required for all sessions - you can bring your own, purchase a pair at the studio, or borrow a clean loaner pair if you forget yours. No need to bring equipment; just come with a water bottle if you'd like.
Private sessions are 55 minutes. We recommend arriving 5 minutes before your scheduled time to get settled and chat briefly with your instructor about that day's focus.
Yes, you're welcome to choose your preferred instructor when booking. If you're new to the studio and unsure who might be the best fit, let us know your goals and schedule, and we'll happily match you with an instructor whose teaching style and expertise align with your needs.
Please cancel or reschedule your session at least 24 hours in advance. Sessions canceled within 24 hours or missed without notice will be forfeited. We understand that emergencies happen - if you're ill or have an urgent situation, reach out to us by email at hello@craftpilates.com and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Private sessions can be an excellent way to work around injuries or support recovery, as your instructor can fully customize the workout to your needs. Please let us know about any injuries or medical conditions before your first session. While our instructors are movement specialists who can offer modifications and alternative exercises, they don't provide medical advice. For serious injuries or conditions, we ask that you get clearance from your healthcare provider before starting. That way, we can work together to create a safe, effective practice that supports your healing.
